2016-17 Stampede Military Appreciation Jerseys

Military Appreciation 2015-2016

The Cheyenne Stampede would like to congratulate the Warren Spouses’ Club as a recipient of a $500 check to go towards their Academic Scholarship Fund. Suzy Sauls and Deanna Flint Pictured (Above/Below) accepted the check on behalf of the club.

These scholarships help spouses and dependents of Active Duty Military, Retired, Air National Guard, and Army Guard personnel in our community pursue a bachelors or master’s degree. Last year the Warrant Spouses Club awarded $12,000 in scholarships. They are having their 10th Annual Auction on March 5 at Fall Hall Community Center on FE Warren Airforce Base. We are proud to give back to the Military for their support.

The Cheyenne Stampede would like to congratulate Platte River Healing Waters Project as a recipient of a $1,200 check. Project Healing Waters teach Veterans’ and Active Military Personnel how to tie flies, build rods and Fly Fish. The Platte Rivers Chapter has taken military personnel on several fly fishing trips to enjoy our Blue Ribbon Rivers and Streams right here in Southern Wyoming, along with a trip to Yellowstone last year. Platte Rivers Chapter is the largest Chapter in the Country. All activities are free for Veterans and Active Duty. The Stampede are proud to support the Military personnel for all the support to the Stampede and City of Cheyenne.

These funds presented where donations from charitable contributions collected during the Cheyenne Stampede’s “Military Appreciation” Weekend earlier this Winter. According to Mark Lantz, GM of the Cheyenne Stampede “We always have an awesome turn-out for our Military Appreciation games and especially for the Military Jersey Auctions”
